The Capital Grille to Open in the St. Louis Region
Known for its dry aged steaks hand-cut in-house, award-winning wine list and unparalleled dining experience, The Capital Grille today announced that it will debut in the Greater St. Louis area on September 18, 2017.
The new restaurant will open in the Hanley Corporate Tower in the bustling suburb of Clayton, Mo., joining the area’s growing business and residential community. The Capital Grille joins a sophisticated up-and-coming dining scene in a region that has been recognized as a top food destination by Zagat, WalletHub, BuzzFeed and others.

The Capital Grille is best known for its expertly prepared steaks, which are custom-aged for 18 to 24 days in-house and hand-cut by the restaurant’s in-house butcher. Dedicated to culinary excellence throughout its menu, a skilled pastry chef prepares desserts each morning from scratch and mozzarella is handmade in-house every 90 minutes. The Capital Grille is also popular for its blend of menu classics and fresh twists on appetizers and sides, such as the Signature Pan-Fried Calamari with Hot Cherry Peppers. The Capital Grille is also known for unparalleled, anticipatory service and our Clayton team, with deep local roots, is eager to greet guests from around the area.
With an award-winning wine list of more than 350 selections curated by its Advanced Sommelier, The Capital Grille uncorks the good life for wine enthusiasts. Its acclaimed wine list includes some of the most highly allocated and sought-after wines in the world, features more than 350 selections, and its floor-to-ceiling wine kiosk regularly houses 3,500–5,000 bottles. For an after-work or a casual, yet elegant experience, guests can enjoy The Capital Grille’s new cocktail time menu featuring hand-crafted cocktails – such as the signature Stoli Doli, wine by the glass, cocktail plates to share, and signature menu items including the Bone-In Kona Crusted Dry Aged NY Strip with Shallot Butter, Porcini Rubbed Bone-In Ribeye with 15-Year Aged Balsamic and Lobster Mac ‘N’ Cheese.
Offering an interactive and personalized experience, The Capital Grille invites guests to enjoy an in-restaurant iPad wine list updated in real time, affording guests the opportunity for exploration while providing detailed tasting notes and suggested pairings. Further complementing the in-restaurant experience, The Capital Grille Concierge Mobile App allows guests to manage their wine locker, view the most up to date wine list, explore food and wine pairings and make a reservation with just two taps.
The Capital Grille will be located within the Hanley Corporate Tower at 101 South Hanley Road and will have a seating capacity of 251 guests among the main dining room, three private dining rooms and one semi-private dining area. Private dining will be available in The J. Buck Room (seats 16), The Lewis Room (seats 24) and The Clark Room (seats 24), with the Lewis and Clark Rooms combining to accommodate up to 48 guests and The Semi-Private Room seating up to 8 guests. Whether it’s an intimate party, a lavish reception or an important business meeting, private dining with The Capital Grille guarantees a comfortable room, elegant table setting, customized menu with world-class wines and a dedicated staff providing gracious, anticipatory service.
Open seven days a week, The Capital Grille will serve lunch Monday through Friday, 11:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., and dinner Monday through Thursday, 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., Friday and Saturday, 5:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. and Sunday, 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. The Lounge is open daily to enjoy lunch, dinner and cocktail time. Reservations are recommended, but not required.
