On-Demand Airport Dining Service Launches in New York and Boston
AirGrub Lets Travelers Skip Restaurant Lines at JFK and Logan; Launches New Frequent Flier Promotion with American Airlines
AirGrub, the on-demand airport dining service, today announced its launch at two new airports, John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York and Logan International Airport in Boston, and its expanded presence at San Francisco International Airport. The company also announced a new promotion to offer miles on two leading programs, including American Airlines AAdvantage® where members can earn up to four miles per dollar spent through AirGrub.
“With the busiest travel season of the year upon us, the demand for high-quality meals on-the-go will continue to grow,” said Surya Panditi, founder and CEO of AirGrub. “Now when travelers check-in for their flight on their smartphone or request an Uber to the airport, they can also order a healthy, delicious meal from the AirGrub app so it’s hot and waiting for them on the other side of security check. San Francisco travelers have fully embraced the on-demand food ordering model since we launched in July and we’re excited to bring the service to the East Coast.”
The AirGrub app allows travelers to take control of their food choices at the airport. Travelers can select their terminal and flight time, see available restaurants and menu items, order, pre-pay and schedule a time to pick up their meal. When they arrive at the restaurant, their meal is freshly made and waiting for pick-up. AirGrub continually works with its restaurant partners to ensure customers are getting fresh food without waiting in line. With AirGrub’s expansion, customers now have access to options for every diet, including gluten free, vegetarian, low carb and more.
AirGrub is now available in three cities, offering food pickup at 18 different participating restaurant locations:
- SFO: Perry’s Restaurant and Perry’s Grab and Go in Terminal 1; Napa Farms Market and Andale Mexican Restaurant in Terminal 2; two Klein’s Deli locations, Andale Mexican Restaurant, Yankee Pier and S.F. SoupCo in Terminal 3; Andale Mexican Restaurant in International G
- BOS: Friendly’s, Fresh City and Market Fresh Kitchen in Terminal A and Terminal A satellite; Burger King in Terminal C and E; GoGo Stop in Terminal C
- JFK: Bar Veloce in JetBlue’s Terminal 5; Bobby Van’s Steakhouse (available December 1) in Terminal 8
In addition, AirGrub today announced it has secured $1.5 million in angel investment funding.
